Schools & Education
South Memorial Elementary School, Peabody.
PMLP & the Youth Community
Peabody Municipal Light Plant is involved in the community. And we believe it's better if we begin that outreach and education when citizens are young.
PMLP produces the Annual Science Fair with the City of Peabody Public Schools (5th Grade). 2016 was the 32nd consecutive year for Science Fair.
We also participate in Student Government Day at Peabody High School and attend science nights at McCarthy and Burke Elementary Schools where we offer a display, and discuss electrical safety and conservation with students.
Also, through the Peabody Education Foundation, our Community Relations Manager, Jennifer Santoro, is an occasional guest reader at elementary schools in the City of Peabody throughout the year.
Here are some of PMLP's latest community-connected youth initiatives...

March 2017HEALTHY PEABODY
Shown here are the presenters (and winners!) for South School's Asset Awards. This group represents multiple sectors of the community—all caring adults who help to build Developmental Assets. The group includes 3 non-parent adults who provide support to young people, plus 14 adults who role model positive and responsible behavior. See www.search-institute.org for the complete list of Developmental Assets which are the building blocks that help a child grow up to be healthy, caring and responsible.
